That in Particular

A finish to Inktober, a blissful erasure of sound, alarming side effects and more sparkly TV, but with a darker edge.

Almost forgot about weeknoting again. It's not even a verb but I think I can forgive myself, it does sound kind of OK that way.

I did Inktober! It was good! I actually enjoyed it and I think I've learned and improved my drawing skills. A while back I did a version of Aesop's The Hare and The Tortoise fable but wasn't satisfied with how it came out. The individual drawings and layouts I liked but I don't think the whole thing came together as a thing and it also took far too long to do. Too much detail, see. I feel like with Inktober because of the time pressure you're forced to drop a lot of unimportant stuff. I still managed to put a lot of detail in even so, so something to work on still.

I got those new shiny earphones because of course I did. But noise cancelling omg, so good. I've tried over-ear big cans headphones with noise cancelling but it didn't feel quite like this. There's something deeper about the near-total erasure of noise that's almost spooky. They also fit very well too. I have very small ears so it's nice to be able to switch to the smaller silicone bud things with these.

I've been put on a new medicine. The specialist rang to tell me, and said "Now, before you go googling that…" explained about the side effects. There's quite an alarming list, but I should be fine since I'm only on this thing for a short while. One thing it says is to avoid sunlight, so going out the other day I felt positively vampiric, hissing at the sun. I'm glad I'm on this in winter, basically.

Drag Race UK continues and I've got quite into it. It's interesting seeing how the editing is setting some of them up for situations so it's fun when your hunch turns out to be correct. They did talk about Section 28 though, and in a strange way it's comforting that it fucked up their lives too, in a hey it's not just me way. The law really was vicious, evil and so deeply, deeply wrong. Whenever anyone tries the won't somebody think of the children line it gives me the horrors. Laws introduced under that banner cause harm to children.

And on that cheery note. That's that, for another week. Unless I forget again.
