Summer’s End

This time of year when the sun gets low in the sky in the afternoon it's angled just right to light up the leaves and flowers. A display like the best stained glass windows. The colours just glow.

As I said in my last post I've been learning how to use the CNC machine. I wanted to start with some geometric things because they're pretty unforgiving of any errors in cutting or measurement. I've made a dodecahedron before using much more manual processes, so this was interesting. I still didn't quite get the finish I wanted. The icosahedron below that worked a lot better, but even so the version here is my second attempt - not a problem of cutting or anything, but holding it together while assembling and gluing! Tricky.
