Solstice!

Oh hey it's the solstice already! Today was a perfect summer's day, warm, gentle breezes, full of the buzzing of bees and chirping of birds. The trees are all in full leaf and casting deep comfortable shade underneath, flowers spotlit in sudden patches of sunlight, understory leaves revealing all their fine textures and the air full of the scent of roses, oregano and mock orange blossom.

Can you tell I love summer?

Raspberry leaves in a spot of sunlight illuminating them from the side so the leave texture is in high contrast. The background is black and the non illuminated parts of the leaf are very dark.
Mock orange leaves lit with sunlight with a dark shaded background, two raspberries are visible in a gap through the leaves

A Nye Bevan rose, globe shaped with close-packed petals. The centre of the flower is a rich egg-yolk yellow shading to pale pink towards the outside.
Rose leaves and an unopened flower bud caught in a patch of sunlight with a dark shaded background. The leaves are amber and red.
